Happy birthday, dear Jenny ... coming up

A big birthday coming up for Jenny on Tuesday - she has the same birthday as Thomas Pynchon, and it's also VE Day, for what that's worth. So we'll be having a suitably big party, to celebrate it, on Sunday afternoon. To celebrate even earlier, here's some photos, from over the years, that happen to be sitting on my computer, including the recent one with me and Rjurik.

Warmest wishes to Jenny (and to Thomas Pynchon, of course, not that he's watching).

Hmmm. Maybe it's time to bake a muted-post-horn-shaped cake.

Happy Birthday, Jenny! This is indeed a significant anniversary, and we very much look forward to sharing it with you tomorrow. Much love, Peter and Clare

PS Speaking of significant anniversaries, there's another one coming up. August 28th will be the 20th annniversary of Clare and I originally meeting you and Russell. It was at Conspiracy '87, the sf worldcon we were all at, along with many other victims of scientology and bad planning. We should celebrate that anniversary too, in a couple of months.

Dear gorgeous Jenny.

I have loved the opportunity to know and work with you for many years now. You are a joy to spend time with, to chat with (sadly mostly on email) and to work with.

Oh, how I would LOVE to come to your party (especially if you still have that amazing brown flouncy dress) but instead I will toast you from Adelaide and wish you many wonderful years ahead with Russell and Felix and all your friends and family (I nearly put Felix first, whoops, sorry Russ).

You deserve so many good things and I hope you get many of them on your birthday (especially many kisses, hugs, an excellent conga line, joyful moments and lots of laughter and happiness).

xxx
Your friend, Kirsty

How many cats does it take to change a light bulb?

Cats do not change light bulbs. People change light bulbs. So, the real question is:

"How long will it be before I can expect some light, some dinner, and a massage?"

Happy birthday, my wonderful servant
Your master, Felix (and Meredith and Paul xx)

Dear darling Jenny,
Ron and I wish you the happiest of happy birthdays. We are totally bummed we can't be there with you to share the laughter and fun, but we do expect some salacious photos.
Have a great day, and may the year to follow be full of love, joy and prosperity.
Love, Alison (in far too sunny Brisbane)

Oh my dog, it's Sunday here, but that means it's already Monday there! We missed the party! But wait--it's not Tuesday yet, so we haven't missed the mhumpmth birthday proper. So from the hot and clammy heart of central Texas, here's a yee-hah to y'all! May the pav melt in your mouth, and the champagne runneth over!

Thanks, everybody! I'm overwhelmed by how lovely Russ and our delightful family and friends have been to me on this Significant Ageing Occasion. It's made coping with the Big Birthday so much easier. Heaps of fun, even.

Thanks, and love,
Jenny
